A high quality spiced rum from Scottish brewers and distillers, Brewdog.
For this rum, the company ships molasses to their distillery in Ellon, Aberdeenshire. The molasses are then fermented for seven days with red wine yeast, before being double distilled in a traditional pot still.
After distillation, the spirit is mixed with ten botanicals: tonka bean, clove, lavender, cardamom, orange peel, mace, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger. It’s then distilled again – rather like you would with a gin. A little brown sugar is then added.
The result is a rum that offers up notes of cinnamon, christmas cake, ginger, baking spice, caramel, pineapple, funky molasses, cloves, cola, herbs, gentle flowers, citrus rind and bananas.
Would work really well in long drinks with ginger ale or cola.
