A spiced rum from Scottish craft beer titan, Brewdog.
This bottling begins with molasses which are fermented for seven days with red wine yeast, prior to being distilled in a pot still. To this spirit botanicals of tonka beans, cloves, lavender, cardamom, orange peel, mace, cinnamon, nutmeg, mixed spices, and ginger are added, alongside the cherries and dark chocolate that give the rum its name. The rum is then distilled again, before a little brown sugar is added.
The result is a luscious, richly flavoured spiced rum, with notes of thick dark chocolate, black cherry ice cream, subtle flowers, fruit cake, brown sugar, orange rind, baking spice, mint, fresh herbs, vanilla, bananas and mango.
Delicious - would work brilliantly in cocktails.
