One of the classic liqueurs that all good bars should stock. This Crème de Cassis is a traditional blackcurrant liqueur, produced by the oldest distillery still in operation, Bols.
The Dutch distillery have taken their inspiration from French blackcurrant liqueurs, with France being the first place the liqueur was produced. This bottling is made with blackcurrants found close to Dijon, which is where Crème de Cassis was invented.
The bottling offers notes of thick, sweet and fresh blackcurrants, with a touch of woodiness and a little acidity.
As might be expected with such a well-established liqueur, uses for this drink are myriad, with it featuring in classic cocktails such as the Parisian Martini #1, Tequila Sunrise and the Kir Royale.
