The third edition of Arran’s marvellous Cask Strength peated whisky line. The whisky takes its name from the nearby peat bog, the Machrie Moor. Legend has it that the great warrior giant Fingal tied his faithful hound Bran to one of the standing stones found in the Moor. This is reflected in the bottling’s striking label design, with features the door standing proud. The whisky itself is peated to 20ppm, and bottled at a robust 58.5%. This is a tremendous whisky, with a strong peat on the nose and throughout the palate, accompanied by delicious tropical fruit flavours of pineapples, peaches and mangos. On the finish, a lingering peat is married with a custardy vanilla note. This whisky is bottled free from colouring or chill filtration.
