A new look Arran 10 year old from this highly regarded island distillery. Despite the redesign, this is the same great single malt that we know and love from this distillery.
The bottling perfectly captures the fresh, malty and slightly earthy house style of Arran.
The spirit has been aged for 10 years in a mixture of American oak Bourbon casks, and a small amount of refill sherry casks. The result is a well balanced dram that offers up notes of pineapple, mango, leather, cherry, plums, bright oak, vanilla, lemon rind, crunchy cereal and malt, buttered bread and a little gentle honey.
This whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and without colouration or chill filtration, displaying a good intensity and a medium body.
First bottled in 2006, Arran’s 10 year old was overdue a revamp, and the new sleek bottles (which feature braille on the label) are befitting of the supple, well crafted spirit within.
