A beautiful French whisky, produced in Brittany. Brittany enjoys a warmer climate than Scotland, but the cooling effect of the Atlantic Ocean creates a temperate, balanced temperature, perfect for maturing spirit.
This whisky has been made with entirely French malted barley at the Warenghem distillery, which has been making liqueurs for over 100 years.
Armorik is produced much like a Scotch whisky, double distilled in copper pot stills. This whisky is aged initially in former Bourbon casks, before being finished in Sherry casks for a few months.
The result is a malty dram with good, powerful notes of citrus zest, sweet wine, dried fruits, almonds, coffee, caramel sweetness, peppery spice and a touch of dark liqourice.
An interesting, tasty whisky, with a restrained sherry influence.
