A gin from the family owned Arbikie Highland Estate distillery. On the estate is found a family farm. Indeed, the founders of the distillery – three brothers – worked on the farm in their youth. The family has been based at the site since the 1920’s. This gin is designed to reflect the coastal surroundings of the highland distillery, using local botanicals of blaeberry, kelp and carline thistle, embodying land, ocean and rock respectively. The gin begins with a potato vodka made from varieties (King Edward, Cultra, and Maris Piper) grown at the estate. The spirit itself is dense and earthy, with a lovely coastal edge. The gin is named after its mastermind, Head Distiller Kirsty Black. This is one of Scotland’s true craft distilleries, and was given the Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year award from the New York International Spirits Competition of 2015.
