A very special bottling of Alpestre’s Italian herbal liqueur, this bottling contains the distillate of 34 herbs, which include: thyme, absinthe, lavender, angelica, fennel, tansy, sage, mint, balm, hyssop, lemon balm and camomile.
These herbs are cultivated in the fields that lie alongside the distillery. Once perfectly mature, they are picked and distilled in the same secret method that Alpestre has used since 1857.
Alpestre Riserve Speciale 1983 has been aged for three decades in Slavonian oak casks, found in the cellars of Carmagnola, before being bottled without any adulteration.
The result is a herbaceous and deeply oak liqueur, with notes of dried herbs, mint, absinthe, floral lavender, subtle fennel, old wood, caramel, vanilla and spice.
Enjoy this as a digestive served in a small grappa glass, or paired with coffee. Alpestre even suggest mixing it with water and honey.
