A traditional amaro from the Italian city of Turin.
Alpestre is a pure distillate of 34 different ‘medicinal’ herbs, plants and aromatics, including: thyme, absinthe, lavender, angelica, fennel, tansy, sage, mint, balm, hyssop, lemon balm and camomile. The herbs are grown in the fields surrounding the distillery.
The amaro is made to a secret recipe which dates back to 1857 – which sees ‘all the active principles of the plants’ perfectly extracted.
After blending and distillation, the Amaro ages for a minimum of four years in Slavonia oak barrels in the company’s cellars in Carmagnola. It is bottled as it comes out of the barrel, with no additional sugar or colouring.
The final product is a bittersweet and herbaceous liqueur, with notes of zingy mint, liquorice, flowers, citrus rind and oak.
Perfect for enjoying as a digestive after dinner, or splashed into coffee.
