A rather interesting bottling from William Grant and Son’s Aerstone range, produced at the Ailsa Bay distillery in Scotland’s Lowland region.

This bottling has been aged in casks that have been stored in warehouses close to the sea, meaning that the whisky has soaked up plenty of maritime notes during its 10 year maturation.

The dram offers notes of malt, vanilla cake, toffee, milk chocolate, brine, lemon rind, slight sea sweet and salted popcorn.

A surprisingly and delicious single malt, that would make for a good quality daily drinker.
