A truly beautiful white Tequila from Jose Cuervo. Unlike their more standard offerings, this is an 100% Weber Blue Agave. This Agave has to be allowed to reach full maturity, a process that can take 8 to 12 years of careful cultivation, before it can be used to make Tequila. 100% Agave Tequila is different from the standard stuff, which is known as mixto. Mixto Tequilas blend the Agave spirit with another spirit, usually molasses based. This is comparable to the difference between a poor quality blended whisky and a fine single malt. This silver Tequila is not really designed to be drunk neat, though the refreshing succulent green Agave note and slight spicy, citrus-y smoke is certainly enticing on a hot day. Rather, 1800 Silver Tequila is ideal for adding a little class and style to cocktails, providing an excellent, fresh Agave note that does not get lost in even the most complex of libations.
