Perhaps the most iconic overproof rum of all time, this is the world’s best selling super strong rum, and is nothing less than a cultural phenomenon! Indeed, Wray and Nephew rum is said to account for 90% of all rum sales in the drink’s spiritual homeland, Jamaica!

The company was originally founded by John Wray, a tavern owner and his nephew Charles J. Ward. The company would eventually merge with the illustrious Appleton Estate.

This rum is bottled at an incredibly powerful 63% ABV, and is designed to be mixed, adding a strong sweetness and molasses funk to cocktails and punches. Wray and Nephew has long been a favourite of the Tiki drinks world.

Recipes to try include Mai Tai’s, Daiquiris, Rum Punch and Nuclear Daiquiris (a high-proof cocktail that pairs this rum with Chartreuse). A nold classic is “Wray and Ting”, which mixes this rum up with grapefruit soda – winning combination!
