The flagship bottling from terroir-obsessed Irish distillery, Waterford.
The Cuvée is inspired by the methods of Bordeaux’s finest vineyards, taking both its name and its methods from the famous French wine region. Here wines will blended together after months of maturation to produce ‘The Grand Vin’ – the ultimate encapsulation of a vineyard or region.
Following on from a series of single farm origin whiskies, this dram is a blend of over 25 unique ‘farm terroirs’ of barley grown in Southern Ireland, that been married together.
Each single farm origin whiskey is made entirely independently, including malting, milling and distilling, for complete flavour integrity. The spirits have been matured in a combination of French and American oak barrels.
The final product is a succulent Irish whiskey, with notes of intense malted barley, freshly baked bread, brown sugar, floral honey, marmalade, apples, pears, vanilla, clean oak, gentle spice and slightly burnt seeds.
Bottled at 50% and without chill filtration, this is a satisfying, slightly oily whiskey.
A statement of intent from Waterford.
