A fantastic extension to Van Wees’s iconic Three Corner brand. Van Wees distillery is doubtless one of the oldest distilleries still operating, and is found in Amsterdam.
The distillery has honed their techniques since 1782, and continue to use traditional methods and recipes.
This gin uses Japanese yuzu, a rare citrus that has become popular in gins of recent years, as it lends a delightfully bright zesty note, somewhere between a grapefruit and a lemon.
Unlike many of their competitors, Van Wees distil all their botanicals, using no infusions or essences. This produces a more complete gin, with a greater intensity of flavour.
For this gin, they have distilled the yuzu separately, and added to their classic Three Corner gin, which is made using juniper, lemon, coriander, angelica alongside other herbs. The gin is non chill filtered, meaning that its rich oils and flavours are unadulterated.
A bright, citrusy gin, this really offers something different for drinkers and bartenders.
