A fantastic, hard to find expression from the Tullamore D.E.W. range. This is a triple distilled Irish single malt, aged for 14 years in a mixture of Bourbon, Port Madiera and Oloroso Sherry Casks. The result is a complex and rich Irish single malt, that retains its distinctive Irish identity. Each batch is made using only 200 barrels, meaning that bottles are scarce, so drinkers should jump at this opportunity to taste this fine Irish single malt! On the nose this whiskey is rich in succulent fruit flavours, with underripe bananas, fresh green apple, peach, lemon rind, lime juice, fresh mango. After a while rich notes of woodspice, honey and toffee malt emerge. The palate is soft, approachable and fruity, with the same orchard fruit flavours of the nose followed by a little woodspice, clear honey, tropical fruits and gingery-vanilla. Some cereal brightness comes at the back of the palate. The finish is long and soft, with a white chocolate note and a little peppery spice. A tremendous single malt, not to be missed out on!
