A lovely, easy-going whisky from Tomintoul which is designed for those days when you just want to kick back and have a dram without thinking about it too much. Indeed, the name of the whisky reflects this. Tlàth, pronounced “Tlah” translates as gentle or mellow, a perfect description of this eminently drinkable Speysider. On the nose, this whisky offers light, classic Speyside notes of cut hay, orchard fruits, sweet vanilla, toffee, citrus rind and a little menthol. The palate is creamy and approachable, with some wonderful oaky notes, a little pepper, some baking spices and roasted apple. The finish is short, spicy and sweet, with a lasting apple note. Fantastic option for a go-to dram, and one that won’t be beat for mellow flavour.
