A miniature bottling of this popular and delicious English gin!
Silent Pool has a somewhat morbid backstory. The gin takes its name from spring-fed pool close to the Albury Estate, in Surrey, where it is made. This pool, which is the gin’s water source, is steeped in legend.
According to folklore, English 13th Century King John found a maiden daughter of a lumberjack, Emma, bathing in the pool. Upon spotting her he urged his horse into the water, chasing her further into the depths of the pool as she tried to protect her modesty. Upon slipping under the waters, Emma let out a scream, cut short by the pool’s waters, giving it its name.
The gin itself is delicious, and equally mysterious, made to a recipe of 24 botanicals, including chamomile, honey (sourced locally), kaffir lime, lavender, cassia bark and cubeb.
The result is a fragrant, citrusy gin, with the honey providing delightful body. Expect notes of spice, fragrant lime, soft floral flavours and bright juniper.
