A delicious blend produced in the Canadian region of Newfoundland.
Whilst most Canaidan whiskies focusses their efforts on showing off the fine grain grown in the nation (particularly rye), this whisky prioritises the flavours of different casks. This whisky has been matured in three different barrels, former Bourbon American oak casks, ex-Canadian whisky barrels and new oak casks. As it happens, the whisky is made with a mixture of corn and barley.
The three different casks used produce a varied and complex whisky, with flavours of vanilla, bright oak, toffee, toasted spice, tropical fruit, biscuits, slight mint, cornbread, a touch of rum and maple syrup.
Despite being bottled at 40% ABV, this whisky is non chill filtered. The whisky is diluted using only the finest Newfoundland water.
Whether you're new to whisky or a seasoned drinker, Signal Hill is a really great expression of Canadian Whisky. This blend is complex and flavourful, with a full body and a hint of sweetness and oak.
Holy Moly ! This is one great tasting whisky. I've been seeing it in more and more lately too. I'm from Newfoundland, and finding out that this spirit comes from my home province makes me feel a little extra proud. I was out recently and a bartender recommended I try it in a Paper Plane cocktail, before this I had never heard of a Paper Plane, but I trusted her and was I ever happy I did. This cocktail was so perfectly balanced, tasty and refreshing, I was blown away. Job well done to whoever is making this whisky.
My new favorite! I am not typically a Canadian Whisky fan but Signal Hill is like nothing I've ever had before. Vanilla, honey with a hint of spice and mild oak at the finish.
Love this Whisky! Very smooth and tons of flavor.
Very smooth for a young whisky. Makes a great Old Fashioned.
Outstanding! So may layers of great flavors.
