A luxurious extra añejo Tequila from Destilería Sierra.

Milenario translates as millennial, but is presumably a reference to the coming of the 21st century and not the much maligned generation.

The distillery is found on a large, historic hacienda in Guadalajara, the capital of the Tequila region and the spiritual home of the beverage. Here distillation is a family business, with the Master Distillery the third generation in his family to have held the role.

This spirit has been made with 100% blue weber agave, gathered from the Jalisco highlands. The Milenario range uses only the first pressing of selected agaves, giving a crisper, fresher flavour. The agave is roasted, fermented and then double distilled in copper pot stills. This spirit has been aged in Durmast oak casks for three years, producing a deeply flavoured and complex Tequila.

Drinkers can expect notes of big oak, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, toffee, mangos, toffee, roasted agave, green wood, apples, grassy hay, peppery spice and lime juice.

An excellent premium Tequila, the bottle recalls the design of ancient Aztec pyramids.
