A gin inspired by the ocean that surrounds the Shetland Isles.
This gin is made with bladderwrack, a seaweed found on the islands’ coastline, which is harvested locally, washed and dried before distillation.
Bladderwrack is accompanied by more traditional gin botanicals of juniper, coriander seed, orris root, cassia bark, citrus peel and apple mint – all native to Shetland.
The result is a slightly salty and savoury gin, with a drying earthiness, some warm spice, a touch of citrus, menthol and bright pine-wood.
The gin is bottled at a pleasingly powerful proof of 49% ABV.
Simply presented with a coastal feel, this is a quality gin in every respect.
