A 12 year old, cask strength edition of Douglas Laing’s popular blended malt, Scallywag.
Scallywag is made with Speyside malt whiskies that have been aged in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
The result is a well sherried blended malt, with huge servings of blackberry jam, fresh spices, treacle tart, almond, honey, brown sugar, oak, preserved figs, prunes and ripe plums.
Bottled at a cask strength of 53.6%, only 6,000 bottles of this cracking dram were produced.
