A truly wonderful rum blend from Dominican company Ron Barceló, bottled to celebrate their 30th year of operation.
This bottling takes “the oldest reserves of Imperial”, which has been matured in American white oak casks and French oak barrels, producing a delightful balance of flavour. The French oak barrel offers a subtle spiciness, whilst the American oak cask imparts more robust notes of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon.
The result is a remarkably complex rum, packed with tropical fruit flavours, touches of dried fruit, dark oak and dense, chewy vanilla bean. These flavours are accompanied by a full, syrupy, molasses sweetness, with waves of caramel, coffee and chocolate notes.
Bottled at 43% ABV, this is one of the strongest rums in the Barceló line-up, which allows the flavours to really take hold.
The rum is presented in a decadent decanter-style bottle, with a handsome gold gift tin, sure to make an impression on even the most seasoned drinker.
