A powerful white rum from Grenada.
This distillery dates back to 1785, and is believed to operate in more or less the same way as it did when founded. The distillery continues to use ancient methods, including a traditional waterwheel.
The spirit is produced from fresh pressed sugar cane juice, giving it a style a little like Martinique’s famous Agricoles. Unlike those rums however, this spirit is distilled in a pot still.
The result is an idiosyncratic rum, with notes of bananas, pineapple, berries, gooseberry, yoghurt, hot white pepper, sea spray and fresh sugar cane.
An intense expression, best used in cocktails.
