A beautiful bottling from one of our very favourite Irish whiskey producers here at Fine Drams. Redbreast was first introduced in 1903, and is now produced by the superb Midleton distillery. It has a reputation in Ireland for being the “thinking man”s tipple”.
This bottling is an extremely fine example of the quality spirit the distillery produces. Triple distilled, and a classic version of the “single pot still style”, this Redbreast offers unrelenting quality throughout.
The whiskey has been finished for a period in first fill Oloroso sherry butts for a year. The casks are sourced from the extremely prestigious Lustau bodega, who have been making high quality sherry since 1896. The result is a wonderfully flavoursome whiskey, with creamy nutty notes, some chocolate and slight liquorice flavours and some juicy fruity notes.
The whiskey has been bottled at 46% ABV, and is non chill filtered, allowing its thick, creamy mouthfeel to take hold.
Another excellent whiskey from the good folks at Redbreast, this is a must-try for all fans of Irish whiskey.
This is like liquid candy, we are scotch drinkers. Any sherry cask fan will love this.
