Red Door Gin
70 cl, 45%

A cracking pot-still distilled Highland gin, designed to capture the flavours of Scotland’s forests, coastland and mountains. This gin is produced in the Speyside Benromach distillery, overseen by spirits wizards Gordon and MacPhail.

Indeed, the tiny still used to make this gin is named Peggy, after Peggy Urquhart, the wife of George Urquhart member of the second generation of the family who own Gordon and MacPhail.

This gin is vapour distilled with a basket of botanicals: the perfect technique for extracting flavour without obliterating the more delicate elements of these fragrant ingredients. In total this gin uses 8 botanicals, including some which were locally foraged. These botanicals are: juniper, coriander seed, sea buckthorn, pearls of heather, rowanberry, orange and lemon peel, and angelica root.

A classic line-up of gin botanicals, which is given a Scottish twist with aromatic buckthorn, floral heather and locally gathered rowanberry (bitter and faintly smoky). The result is a Juniper-forward, fruity and spicy gin, with a touch of the sea about it.

Bottled at 45% ABV, this is a powerful, delicious spirit.

Superb in a Negroni.
