Few rums are as iconic as this classic bottling, with its famous blue label. Originally designed to replicate the Royal Navy’s own rum blend, the company was founded just 9 years after the Navy stopped its practice of a daily ration of rum for all sailors. This rum is indeed naval to its core, with Pusser being naval slang for a Purser, the ship’s supply officer. Pusser then began to be used as an indication of anything that was general issue by the Navy, such as this rum. Its authenticity can be assured, as the founder Charles Tobias purchased the rights to the original blending recipe of Royal Navy rum. This recipe includes five different Caribbean rums, based around a core of Guyanese Demerara rum. The rum itself is funky, heavy and sweet, with a superb depth of flavour. It is the crucial ingredient in the modern classic Painkiller cocktail.
