A ‘pure single rum’ from the Providence brand.
This rum was produced at the Distillerie de Port-au-Prince in Haiti in 2019.
Providence 3 year old’s label serves up a wealth of information for the inquisitive rum nerd. The spirit has been distilled from ‘ancestral cristalline sugar syrup’ and was distilled on the 29th September 2019 in an ‘artisanal Muller’s bain-marie still’ - a kind of pot still. The label also states the rum is proudly ‘handmade and robot free’.
After distillation, the spirit was matured for three years in casks that previously he.d rum from the iconic Caroni rum.
The result is a rum in the agricole style, which offers notes of icing sugar, bananas, very gentle oak, pineapple, grassy cane, tobacco leaf, mint, cinnamon, ginger, mango and lime rind.
Bottled at 52%, this is a powerful, flavoursome and characterful rum.
