A whiskey created by MMA fighter and (briefly) boxer Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor, the first man to hold champion titles in two different UFC weight divisions at once. The whiskey takes its name from the Dublin 12 postcode where McGregor was born and raised.
The bottling was developed with the aid of former Bushmills distillery manager David Elder.
The whiskey is a blend of different grain and malt spirits, which have been aged in Bourbon barrels, showcasing the sweeter elements of the whiskey. McGregor and Elder apparently tried over 100 different blends before they settled on this version.
A light and sweet Irish whiskey, Proper No. Twelve offers notes of vanilla, light malt, restrained wood, honey, apples, pears, caramel, cut grass, pressed flowers, peppery spice and a little lime.
Quite possibly the most successful celebrity endorsed whiskey of all time, this bottling has enjoyed enormous sales, particularly in America.
