Here at Fine Drams, we’re big fans of long aged single grain Scotch whisky, and this 28 year old dram from Port Dundas is an excellent example. Thai dram has been bottled by Signatory Vintage for their highly regarded Cask Strength Collection.
Distilled back in 1995 at the now sadly lost Port Dundas distillery (once the largest in Scotland), this spirit has been aged for 28 years in a single Bourbon hogshead.
The result is a spicy, rich single grain whisky with notes of apples, pears, peaches, sweet cereals, cream, old oak, vanilla, toffee, a little malt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, thyme, flowers, ripe bananas and black pepper.
An impressive, full bodied and well-balanced single grain whisky, bottled at a cask strength of 58.4%. Only 176 bottles were produced.
