Without any doubt, Cachaça is the spirit of Brazil, whose citizens consume a massive 2 billion liters of the stuff each year.
This is an excellent example of the spirit, made with pressed sugar cane juice, and (following distillation) matured in wooden barrels for several weeks, rounding off the Cachaça’s harsher notes.
The final result is a light, refreshing and sweet spirit, with notes of lime, tropical fruit, vanilla, peppery spice and white grapes.
This is of course, perfect as the base in Brazil’s national cocktail, the Caipirinha, but can be used in a cocktail that requires a white rum, to add a Brazilian twist.
