An excellent, well-aged Honduran Rum with a swashbuckling nature! This cracking rum is aged in former Bourbon American oak barrels, before a select few casks are picked out and blended together on the island of Roatán in the Caribbean ocean. The Island has a strong piratical heritage, being used as a stop-off point for buccaneers between pillaging raids. This is the only Rum available as an export from Honduras, with a company based in the London borough of Hackney behind the brand. Pirate’s Grog offers up classic estery rum notes of burnt sugar, bananas, clear honey and vanilla oak on the nose. The palate is eminently drinkable, with a rich creamy mouthfeel, and beautiful sweet sugar notes. The finish is short and sweet, inviting the drinker to take another sip. Perfect served over ice, or neat, or in delicious rum cocktails!
