A big bottling of Picon Biére’s lemon flavoured iteration.

This lemony bitters has previously been extremely difficult to source outside of France, where it is traditionally drunk alongside (or mixed with) beer by dockers and sailors. This version goes particularly well with wheat beers and lager.

The bottling is made with a base of fresh and dried lemons, gentian and quinine, mixed with an alcohol solution.

Picon Biére au Citron offers up flavours of lemon zest, juicy citrus, rooty spice and bitterness, and some tangy quinine.

Whilst beer is the classic pairing, it is easy to see how this aperitif could be used in all manner of citrusy cocktails.
