A flavoursome XO Cognac from Peyrat.
Maison Peyrat was established at the end of the 1800s by Henri Peyrat. The company has remained in family hands, and is now run by Henri’s grandson, Philippe. Peyrat have a firm belief in terroir, and as such, have produced their Cognac in a wholly organic manner since 1998.
This is a blend of different eau-de-vie from around the region, with the majority coming from the Petite Champagne cru, one of the premiere Crus of Cognac. The Cognac has been aged for a minimum of 15 years in French oak casks.
The result is a harmonious and rich spirit, with notes of waxy apples, toasted nuts, heavy oak and rancio, dried cranberries, vanilla, sultanas, toffee, tobacco, saffron, cinnamon, cloves, plums, leather and dark chocolate.
A remarkable XO Cognac, that was deemed one of the 50 best spirits bottlings in the world by Wine Enthusiast Magazine in 2013.
