A super dark spiced rum, which is named after a fearsome street gang from the early 20th century (now the subject of a popular TV show). The Peaky Blinders were known for hiding blades in the peaks of their caps, hence the gang’s name.
Sadler’s Brewery, the distillery who have produced this spirit, are based in the same part of the world as the original Peaky Blinder’s – the West Midlands “Black Country” (so called for the colour of its soil).
The rum has been blended with spices which enhance the spirit’s natural flavour, and as such the bottling serves up flavours of coffee grounds, pecans, orange peel, raisins, vanilla, clove, nutmeg, burnt sugar, banana and molasses.
The spirit is bottled with a smart wax seal, and an image of a Peaky Blinder member looking decidedly threatening.
This spiced rum mixes very nicely with cola.
