One of the first Pastis bottlings to be created after a ban on producing anise-based liqueurs was lifted in France, back in 1951.

Pernod 51 is named to remember this momentous year. The aperitif is produced using a mixture of Chinese star anise, aromatic herbs de Provence, liquorice, fennel and cola nut from Africa.

These botanicals and spices are steeped in neutral spirit, and then double distilled.

The result is a summertime classic, best enjoyed well diluted to make a refreshing, herbaceous and liquoricy drink.
