This orange liqueur is made with sweet and bitter oranges, other natural orange flavourings, cane sugar, Rosé wine from the Lubéron region of Provence in Southern France, Curaçao spirit, and a quinine infusion.
Orange Colombo is partly inspired by ‘hippocras’, a sweetened, spiced wine that was popular in France during the Middle Ages. The liqueur takes its name from an orange variety often used to make liqueurs, wines and infusions.
It serves up powerful flavours of candied oranges, sweet wine, slightly bitter botanical flavours, at touch of bright zest and refreshing mandarin juice.
With the inclusion of both orange flavours and quinine it sits somewhere between an orange liqueur and a tonic wine, making it an intriguing ingredient for cocktails. It is also delicious served cold or drunk neat alongside dark chocolates.
