A delicious, sherried offering from Morrison and Mackay’s blended series, Old Perth.
The historic Scottish city of Perth was associated with the whisky blending business throughout the 19th century and up until the 1980s, when the whisky downturn began to bite. This series from Morrison and Mackay pays homage to this historic link, whilst resurrecting an old brand from the early 1900s.
This particularly expression is rumoured to contain spirit from Glenfarclas, Glentauchers, and Blair Athol. The spirit has been aged in three different sherry casks (in order of size): a sherry butt, a sherry puncheon and a sherry hogshead. These feature on the label, which has a scarlet colour reflecting the spirit within.
A high quality, youthful blend, this bottling offers notes of citrus, dried fruit (dates, raisins and rum soaked figs), sherry, oak, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, dark chocolate, coffee, toasted nuts and warm, burnt malt flavours.
A bottling that will definitely appeal to fans of sherry-bombs, this is great value for money.
