Previously a whiskey that dated back to 1780, this Bourbon brand has been recently revived by Royal Spring Branch Distillery, which can be found in Georgetown, Kentucky. The Pepper name has resonated across Bourbon history, with one Pepper vying for the status as the inventor of the Bourbon style. This Bourbon has an expertly balanced mashbill of malted barley, rye and, of course, corn! The nose offers sweet, vanilla and caramel aromas, with a little fresh oak sweetness and rye spice. The palate is fairly faithful to the nose, adding some cherry, toasted spices and espresso bitterness. The finish is crisp and drying, with some sweet corn notes lingering. A great option for cocktail making long into the night, without breaking the bank!
