This is the more premium expression of the two Old Bardstown bottlings, bottled by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (Willett). It is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV), which gives it a good bit more flavor than regular Old Bardstown. This is any many ways an atypical bourbon, as it doesn’t really hit the same notes as you can normally expect. It is said to have a nose and body like a good single malt, and a palate reminiscent of a sherry finished Scotch whisky. We’re certainly intrigued.
