A gin with a great pedigree, coming from one of the world’s very best spirit and wine shops, Berry Bros. and Rudd! Indeed, the gin takes its name from the famous old shop’s address: No. 3 James Street, London. Berry Bros. and Rudd have been supplying London’s discerning customers with fine wines and luxury spirits since 1698, and these centuries of experience have made them one of the most well respected names in the industry. Thus, when they turned their hand to gin production, the result was always going to be a good one.
No. 3 Gin is made with a distinct sense of tradition in mind, distilled in a family owned Dutch distillery- one of the oldest in the country- using tiny traditional pot stills! Dr. David Clutton, the brains behind many famous gins, wanted to create a simpler gin, to avoid the over-complication that he feels has afflicted so many offerings on the market. After spending a year painstakingly testing various recipes, he settled on just six botanicals- three fruits and three spices- to create his high quality, simple London dry gin. These were: Italian juniper, Spanish orange peel, grapefruit peel, Moroccan coriander, Angelica root and cardamom pods. This cardamom quality particularly sets this gin apart with its excellent, slightly earthy spice. One of the best gins on the market for a dry martini, this is one that everyone should try!
