One of the most popular liqueurs of any description on the market today, Midori is well known for its sweet melon flavour and vivid green colour.
Indeed, the name ‘Midori’ comes from the Japanese word for green, as Midori’s producers, Suntory, are based in Japan.
Midori has an interesting history, with the liqueur first launched at the famous Studio 54 nightclub in New York, during a party for the crew and cast of the film Saturday Night Fever, in 1978.
The liqueur has a powerful melon flavour, with a thick texture and rich sweetness. It is a crucial ingredient in several cocktails, including the Japanese Slipper and the Midori Sour.
A consistent crowd pleaser.
