A good quality entry level Cognac from this interesting and historic Cognac House.
Meukow dates back to the 1860s, and was founded by two Russian brothers, Auguste-Christophe and Gustave Meukow, who were originally sent to France to purchase Cognac for the Tsar. Meukow went from strength to strength and by the 20th century had become one of the major players in the Cognac industry.
The company is well known for the distinctive leaping puma featured on their bottles. They are also known for producing a high quality spirit, distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes.
This bottling is an excellent introduction to the Meukow style, serving up notes of rich dried fruits, cream, toasted oak, spices, dark honey, nutmeg, vanilla, slight chocolate and bright fresh grapes.
Works wonderfully in cocktails, or sipped neat after dinner.
