Masahiro distillery is best known for producing Awamori, a Japanese rice spirit.
With the gin boom showing no signs of slowing, different and diverse distilleries are looking to get in on the action.
This gin has a unique and interesting array of botanicals, using guava leaves, long pepper, goya melons, shekwasha (a kind of lime like citrus fruit found in Okinawa and Taiwan) and roselle (a strain of hibiscus flower) alongside juniper.
The result is a wonderfully fruity and exotic gin, with notes of green herbs, peppery spice, some rooty botanicals, bittersweet juniper and pressed flowers.
A distinctive and delicious gin, that is testament to the incredible variety of bottlings now available.
