A rather interesting release from Marca Negra.
This Mezcal is made with three different kinds of Agave – an “ensemble”. The three strains used for this bottling are Mexicano, San Martin and the popular Espadin. Production is overseen Mezcal Maestro Basilio Pacheco at La Noria distillery in Ejutla, Oaxaca.
Unaged, this Mezcal offers a pure flavour of the agave used. Drinkers should expect notes of sweet citrus, a little warm smoke, Mirabelle plums, pressed flowers, grassy agave, peppery spice and lime rind.
Bottled at 49.3% ABV, this is a full bodied dram, that would lend power and complexity to any Mezcal cocktail.
