A richer, special edition version of Mandarine Napoléon liqueur.
This Belgian liqueur marries 27 herbs and spices, Mandarin peels and Cognac. It was said to be a favourite of the famous French Emperor.
It is with the Cognac that the main difference is felt – this bottling uses a 30 year old Grande Champagne spirit, as opposed to a 10 year on in the original – it also kicks up the amount of Cognac used to 43%, giving a richer and more complex character of all.
This bottling serves up notes of sandalwood, espresso, vanilla, woodsmoke, flowers, dried fruits, grapes, dark oak, candied mandarins, orange juice, sweet tangerines, lemon juice, chopped herbs, mint and salted caramel.
Originally, 2000 bottles were made annually, but this has been cut back to just 900.
This edition also has more luxurious packaging, with a beautiful teardrop shaped bottle.
