This French gin draws inspiration from the botanicals discovered by Ferdinand Magellan during his 1619 expedition around the world. 11 botanicals make up this gin: juniper berries, cinnamon, orange peel, iris, clove, cardamom, liquorice, coriander, cassia, nutmeg, and Grains of Paradise. First a 100% grain-base is distilled three times, the botanicals (except iris) are then added and it is distilled a fourth time, and lastly, the iris is infused with the finished gin. While a coloured gin may seem “cheap”, don’t be fooled by the blue colour of the Magellan Gin – which doesn’t come from artificial colouring, but rather the iris infusion. This is legitimately a very good gin!
