A tremendous Dutch gin, made in small batches at a distillery that has been in action since 1650. This gin is distilled in pot stills, using botanicals from the oldest herb garden in Holland, the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden. This gin uses an interesting array of botanicals to create a truly unique flavour, with basil, pear and the distillates of tropical fruit leaves used. These build upon a more traditional base of lemon peel, coriander and the necessary juniper. The flavour is bright and herbaceous with a spicy, fruity aftertaste. Holland is considered the birthplace of gin, and this spirit does the nation’s prestigious distilling history justice, with quality production in every aspect.
