The Dodo might be dead, but you’ll find plenty of life in this delicious single estate Mauritius rum.
This rum is produced by the Grays, the same fine folk behind the excellent New Grove series, in collaboration with Bordeaux winemakers the Milhade family.
As a single estate rum, the cane was grown, harvested and processed all in the same place, the Pampelmousses Estate in Mauritius. This bottling contains rum column still distilled from molasses, and matured in a mixture of French and American oak. The rum is a blend of spirits aged 5, 6 and 12 years, ensuring both excellent balance and complexity.
The rum is packed with bright, fruity flavours from the off, with notes of apple, pear, apricot, grapefruit, vanilla, soon followed by further flavours of almond, caramel, toffee, and burnt sugar.
Easy drinking and approachable, this is a great tasting, great looking rum with a top-tier provenance.
