Another bottling from blend company Lauder’s. Lauder’s dates back to 1834, when the original blend was developed by Archibald Lauder, but this bottling forms part of their considerably more recent Art of Blending series.
A blend of malt and grain whiskies from the Highland, Lowland and Speyside region, these spirits are initially aged in charred Bourbon casks, before being transferred for a finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks. This secondary maturation imparts deep, complex flavours to the whisky, which highlight the blend’s natural fruity spiciness.
The final result is a whisky that delivers flavours of roasted chestnuts, vanilla, bananas, dark fruit, toffee, pressed flowers, figs, apricots, spice, Christmas cask and sherry.
A big step up from the standard blend, this bottling of Lauder’s will appeal to fans of Sherry-bombs.
