The 2017 edition of the eagerly awaited Kilchoman Loch Gorm, their annual Sherry cask matured special release. Loch Gorm is named after the peat-rich loch found at the end of Kilchoman Drive. This whisky has a huge cult following, and it is easy to see why, taking Kilchoman’s ashy, smoky single malt and aging it entirely in Oloroso Sherry casks, to give it rich, fudgy, chocolaty flavours of dried fruit and spice. It is the only wholly Sherry cask matured whisky in Kilchoman’s regular line-up. This whisky is bottled at 46% ABV, which allows the flavours to really take hold. As always with Kilchoman, no chill filtration or artificial colouring was used when making this marvelous whisky. Only 13,500 bottles of this beautiful dram were released worldwide. This whisky picked up a silver medal in 2017 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
